The Colonial Commonwealth
The galaxy is immense and can be an unforgiving place. Earth is only one planet in the Sol system, but there are billions of stars in our galaxy and many other stars systems. This is one of the reasons why Earth and Sol - plagued for centuries by interstellar piracy, crime syndicates, rogue spacers, and rival forces - formed an alliance with twelve of their nearest neighbors in the middle colonial period. These thirteen colonies make up a political organization known as the Colonial Commonwealth.
